So before graduation I bought the makings of a beautiful suit for interviews. I got it at White House Black Market and was {and still am} obsessed with it! It is classic, flattering, with a touch of sexy.
Well then I realized that for teaching interviews, you typically don't wear a full on suit.
So to make a very long story short, I have never wore a single part of my suit {two years later} and decided that's ridiculous!
So I decided to take the three elements of my suit {skirt, jacket, and blouse} and mix and match them for different occasions!
Here are all of the elements of my suit: a tight pencil skirt, black and white polka-dot silk blouse, and tailored jacket with a ruffled collar detail.
Pretty good "bones" right?
They no longer have this particular suit, but they have things very similar in the store and online!
Here she is on me in all of her interviewing glory.
I don't think the pictures do it justice...it's very flattering and I love it!
Suit: White House Black Market {old}; Bag: Target {old}; Shoes: Zappos
On a side note...this contents of this bag totally explain my profession. I used it for my most recent interview and there was a sock puppet of the Very Hungry Caterpillar that I made my senior year for my kindergartners. Hilarious right?
Okay, so let's move on to how to mixed these pieces up!
Let's Start With The Skirt.
I paired it with a recent purchase. This particular color is out of stock, but it is a racerback tank that is longer in the back. Totally out of my comfort zone, but I've already worn it twice!
Skirt: White House Black Market; Tank: JC Penny; Heels: No Clue
I realized after that I didn't even accessorize this look. No jewelry other than my watch...I guess it didn't need it in my book!
I like this shot because it shows the little twist I did in the back.
Wendel just got me some new fancy video editing software, so I might test it out by making a little hair tutorial video soon. So be on the look out for that!
Now Let's Move Onto The Jacket
Warning: Ladies, Wendel about lost it when I showed him this look! Needless to say...you want to make you husband ohh and ahh over you...try this little get up :)
I think it was the messy pony-tail...but who knows!
Jacket: White House Black Market: Pants: Gap; Sequin T: Loft {old}; Belt: Target {Still in store}; Shoes: {Super old}; Earrings: White House Black Market
Love this shot! The sparkles, The Leopard, The Bangles! Love, love, love!
Lastly The Polka-Dot Blouse
This particular day was a super off day for me picture-wise. It started raining just as we started taking pictures and it was kind of down hill from here
Super simple outfit. Comfy, with a pop from that necklace! Some people may not have paired a bold necklace with a ruffly blouse...I say what the heck?
Pants: Gap; Blouse: White House Black Market; Flats: Target; Cardigan: Loft {super old}; Necklace: J.Crew Ebay; Umbrella: Ikea
Anyone else like mixing up their suits and wearing them different ways? Or do you keep in sacred and only bring it out for those special occasions?
Love that suit! And I love how you wore them individually. Definitely a great purchase!
