{Wendel's 27th Birth Week}

Wendel's birth week was pretty epic...we crammed in lots of fun!

Probably my favorite thing we did was take a walk down memory lane.

Some of you may have already seen this...but here's a little video of our adventure!

A Walk Down Memory Lane from Lelia Wendel on Vimeo.

Here are a few snapshops from the fun!

Here's what the room looked like...it was kind of a fantasy land...and we may have left it just like this for quite a few days!

{Oh and FYI...this picture defines our relationship. I'm insane and Wendel is typically scared of me}

This was such a fun way to reminisce! We had a blast talking about these memories and thinking about what was going on in our lives at that time!

It was pretty fabulous and I highly recommend this for a birthday or anniversary!

I'll have one last update from the other fun we had throughout birth week on Wednesday!

Have a great Monday!

{Hello There Camouflage}

I've been searching for a pair of camo pants for a little over a year.

It was one of those things that Wendel thought was 100% ridiculous.

I didn't want to spend a lot on them because...well...they're camo pants...how often will I really wear them?

But I also didn't want to buy a pair that were ridiculously cheap and uncomfortable.

So when I spotted these at Gap {only one they had...and they were my size} for $18...I first weeped...then took them and RAN to the check out!

Okay...that may be a bit dramatic...I gingerly walked to the check out :)

Wendel's birthday is on Saturday, so we've been doing all sorts of fun things to celebrate him! I'll share all of the details on Monday!

So tell me...who is loving the camo trend? Who thinks it's ridiculous? You can be honest with me...I can take it...I think :)

Have a great weekend!

{Saint Patty's Day + Birth Week}

Happy Monday Friends!

We had a lovely, lazy weekend and it was just what the Dr. ordered!

We had plans of getting lots done in the basement, but Wendel got sick so we put that to the side.

Then I had plans of taking lots of outfit pictures, and our camera died and we can't find the charger. So hopefully the new charger gets here very soon!

Saturday morning, I made rainbow pancakes for myself {since Wendel really didn't want to eat}...and they were delicious! It's become a tradition...probably one of my very favorites.

Okay, let's be honest...all traditions are my favorite!

Today starts Birth Week for Wendel! His actual birthday is on Saturday, but as many of you know...we make birthdays a week long extravaganza! You may remember from herehere and here.

I have lots of fun planned for Wendel this week, and I'm going to try to document as much as possible! Fingers crossed our charger gets here today!

Have a great start to your week friends!

{Feeling Blue...}

Hello Lovely Readers!

I'm so sorry I took a few days off!

We had an unexpected heat wave...followed by snow the next day. Only in Cincinnati.

On top of that, my photographer {my husband} is up to his ears in his Masters work...so the moral of the story is that the weather needs to pick a season and I need a professional photographer to follow me around all day...anyone?

Speaking of pictures, I'm about to take an online photography class and I'm SO excited!

Praying I really learn a lot and can work some magic for the blog!

Anyhoo...this is my "it's really flipping cold outside and I am boycotting coats" look...

Honestly...it's just super comfy and I've worn this exact outfit like four times this month!

Oh and my new sunnies...obsession would be a great word to decribe them! $5.80...run people!

Our pool looks pretty...huh?

I'm hoping to have some basement updates soon. The lighting is incredibly hard down there, so it's hard to snap decent pictures...but I'm working on it!

Have a fabulous weekend!

{Green Captain....}

This definetly isn't one of my favorite outfits...but hey...share the good and the "not your favorite"...right?

I think I'm not a ran of this because I'm just not really a big lover of me in black...I think it's because of my brown hair. But black has never been my favorite for myself...maybe it will grow on me!

{I've Got Big Calves And I Can Not Lie}

So let's talk boots for a moment...

Now I know that it's about to be spring, but this is a great time to buy boots. This is the time of year where I typically pick up a pair of boots to replace a pair that have been worn down! We all know we have at least one pair that is about to bust at any moment!

While I really love tall boots, the face of the matter is that I have large calves. Who's with me? Anyone? They measure about 16 1/2 inches, and typical boots measure at about 14 1/4 inches...so I have a pretty terrible time finding boots in a store.

After far too many tearful experiences, and hearing about WideWidths.com from the woman Oprah herself, my mom graciously allowed me to purchase a pair {this was in high school...when Lelia had no moola of her own}

WideWidths.com caters their boots to wide and extra wide boots of all varieties. They have a huge selection of fashionable and great quality boots to help us curvy girls out! They are however, not cheap. They range anywhere from $100 and $200, but I've bought a few pairs from Wide Widths {I think three all together} and they have held up for more than 5 years!

I've tried DSW, and had success once in their store. Last winter, they just happened to have 1 pair of brown riding boots that were wide calved and in my size. I'd say that was God wanting to experience a boot shopping experience without ending in tears. You've seen them herehere, and here.

If you go online, there are many more options! I'll be honest though most of their boots are only 15 1/2 inches in circumference, so I couldn't wear them...but if you measure around 15 inches, then you'd be good to go!

One/Two/Three/Four/Five/Six

Zappos.com is another option for your wide calf boot needs! I just bought these a few weeks ago and I'm loving them!

So if you have wide calves...have no fear! You can wear cute boots, and not shed a tear!

Anyone else had success with wide calf boots? Share your wisdom! We'd all love to know!
