{Bar-ing It Up For Father's Day}

Yup...we hit up some bars for Father's Day...

An omelet and waffle bar that is!

See how I did that...made you think we were hitting up bars...on a Sunday...on Father's Day...anyone?

Anyhoo, my sister and I like to go big or go home...so we planned some "bar hopping" for the dads/men in our lives and it wasn't your typical "bar hopping"

We set up two brunch bars at our house and let me tell you...it was a hit!

First up was the omelet bar...

All you had to do was fill out your wish list...and tape it to the microwave...

You could obviously go as crazy with this as you want...we were lazy and only had a few ingredients, but you do add any of the following: olive tapenade, artichokes, spinach, tomatoes, chives, avocado...the list goes on and on!

A few minutes later, your omelet was ready to eat!

My sister and brother-in-law headed up the omelets...he offered...we wouldn't make him work on Father's Day!

Then we had the waffle bar! Everyone got to make their own waffle with all the fixings {including doughnut holes...of course} Again, the options are endless. We went simple again, chocolate chips, butter, bananas, and maple syrup. We have lots of nut allergies so we stay clear of nuts for family affairs, but here are some more options: blueberry syrup, peanut butter, butterscotch,  blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, NUTELLA...mmm....nutella.

Yeah...I'm a little strange ya'll...excuse me!

Look at that steam! We got this waffle iron as a wedding present, and it's amazing! You put the mix in and then a light comes on when it's done...no burning!

And we may have had mimosas...which I promise there was champagne for...it just didn't make it out in time for the pictures.

My sweet potato vines are taking over our front porch...I need to thin them out a bit! And we got a new welcome mat from Target! You can't beat $12 of bright colored goodness!

Then came the big fun...the $9 bubble machine from, of course, Target that was such a hit! I think the adults liked it just as much as the little ones!

{side note...I'm not with child...this skirt just isn't the most flattering in pictures...}

Told you...I'm pretty sure our neighbors kids were dying...don't worry...we invited them over!

My husband...he's the best!

Which side note...we did human bubbles a few weeks ago...holy amazing! Did this with my school kiddos and decided to share the fun! So awesome!

We were going to spend the afternoon in the pool...but it decided to rain...Lily pretty much sums up how we all felt!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Father's Day!

{Take Two}

You may remember that I wore this Gap Maxi for our first anniversary, so it was time to remix this comfy dress a bit!

Dress: Gap; Chambray: JCrew Factory; Necklaces: Target; Sunnies: Anthropologie; Purse: Local Monogramming Store; Bracelets: Groopdealz {bow and tortoise} and China Town; Sandals: DSW

I  layered two of my favorite gold necklaces from Target...Wendel wasn't so sure, but it grew on him...

Oh yeah...and our pool is ready! I'll be doing a little post next week all about the...long...process of re-staining our deck!

Happy Friday!!

{Summer Time Bucket List}

I love me a bucket list...being the type A person that I am. I love marking things off and having goals in mind. It also helps me to see that we've actually done fun things...does anyone feel me on that one?

So when I saw this precious bucket list on Pinterest...I knew I needed to get this thing started!

I wanted to change some of the things on the bucket list, so I did a little editing, and thought I'd share the process!

How To Nest For Less has graciously offered this printable for free, but this is a little tutorial of how to edit this printable without using Photoshop to make it more applicable for your family!

Here is what The Wendel's Summer Bucket List looks like!

To get started, go to this link and right click on the Summer Bucket List picture. Then go to save as, and save it somewhere on your computer {I typically save it in my pictures}

Then go to the picture, right click, and open with Paint...

You should now see something like this...

Now all you need to do is carefully erase the items you wish to eliminate by clicking on the eraser in the top blue part and erasing away!

Then you'll have something like this!

Then you'll just need to add the writing by clicking on the "A" and picking a font. I have TONS of fonts downloaded to my computer...here are some of my favorite places to get free fonts!

And there you have it! Now you can edit away! I use this technique for editing party printables or invitations or teaching tools!

Happy Monday!!

{Stripes, Jean Jacket, and A Mason Jar}

I've mentioned it time and time again...I'm a dress girl! In the summer, the thought of putting pants on makes me feel suffocated! No thank you! So when in doubt, a dress or skirt is what I pick out!

When I found this J.Crew dress on sale I squealed...no really...a sales person asked if I was okay.

Love it so much, especially when it's cool enough that I can wear a cute jean jacket! This one is huge on me...I'm in need of a new one because this was from pre-weight loss Lelia!

Oh and if you follow me on Instagram {Lelia Wendel} you saw that I got this new mason jar that is thermal! I'm in love...it's perfect for iced coffee in the morning and iced tea in the evening!

Dress: J.Crew ; Jean Jacket: Loft {old} ; Sandals: Ralph Lauren via Macy's {old} ; Purse: Dolce & Gabbana via Goodwill {seriously...my mom's a thrift store genius!} Sunglasses: Anthropologie ; Watch: Fossil ; Green Bracelet: Target ; Crystal Bracelet: J.Crew Factory

Happy Friday!! We're having our pool opening party {finally!} and I'll be back Monday to share pictures from the party and give details on our newly stained {and beautiful} deck!!
